And the Devil Makes Three by Illusionation And the Devil Makes Three by Illusionation
There were eight archangels, originally. They were created to be paired off, to be the perfect match for each other - a combination of best friend, most trusted adviser, and strongest advocate. Gabriel and Mikhaelle, Uriel and Barachiel, Saraqael and Rafaeli, Cassiel and Lucifer. But then the mistake happened, and Lucifer was cast out of Heaven and hurled to the still-forming Earth, with a cut on his cheek from his father's hand that never fully healed.

So many things are off about this, I'm not even sure what to think. But I've been staring at it too long to see anything to change without revamping everything, so up it goes. Lucifer's still got his angel wings, obviously, but it's kind of tough to keep pale wings clean in Hell, so they're a little worse for wear. His hair might change...I've got it at kind of a dirty blond right now, but it could end up completely different.

The title is from "Didn't Leave Nobody But the Baby," off the "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack.

Originally 8, a number enough to let them pair, to be the perfect support, and the number 4 being reminiscent in many pillars of life: the four cardinal directions, the four seasons, etc. Then one is cast from heaven, and his brothers are now left at seven, One for each of the virtues that make up Man.
